Church Staff:

Interim Pastor

The church is a fluid body that changes with the movement of the Spirit.  Our congregation is currently entering the Call Process.  That means that we will have a short period of supply pastors joining us to lead worship on Sunday mornings.  We will then have an Interim Pastor for 1-2 years (beginning mid-October 2018) as we prepare to call a new full-time Pastor into ministry at St. Paul.

Barb Hoover.png

Barb Hoover, Administrative Assistant

As a lifetime resident of Bellville and member of St Paul Lutheran Church, Barb and her husband, Mike, are a blessing to the church. Barb has served as secretary since January 1983 and offers invaluable administrative support to our church. In addition, she coordinates the church calendar which includes all church-related activities. Barb may be contacted at

Coordinator of Youth & Family Ministry

This staff position is currently vacant and will be addressed as our congregation moves through the Interim and Call Process.  We value children and young adults, knowing that they add many joys and gifts to the ministry of our congregation.

Cheryl Lantz.png

Cheryl Lantz, Contemporary Music Director

Cheryl Lantz directs the Arise! Praise Band and leads congregational songs at the 8:15 Arise! Worship Service. She and her husband, Gary, are lifelong residents of the Clear Fork Valley. Cheryl is also the secretary at Clear Fork High School and makes the office and school run smoothly. Test her. Cheryl thinks in music and can come up with a song that fits any situation.

Denise Lang.png

Denise Lang, Traditional Music Director & Rejoice! Choir Director

Denise has been the organist here since she was sixteen, predating the rest of the staff!  She is a gifted and dedicated musician.  Besides being an accomplished musician, she also enjoys the art of oil painting, which she does with meticulous precision. She lives with her daughter Amanda, who is an exuberant presence in our midst. We greatly miss her husband Jerry who died in 2010.

Beth Fry SPLC.png

Beth Fry, Church Treasurer

Our financial books are kept in perfect order by our treasurer, Beth Fry. Beth took over as treasurer in 2016. Beth has also worked part-time for Directions Credit Union for 34 years and has served Perry Township as the fiscal officer for 16 years. She is a lifetime resident of Bellville, and life-long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Beth and her husband, Amos, were married here over 30 years ago and have two grown children.

Katie Will, Nursery Coordinator

Katie has been with St. Paul since she herself was in the nursery.  She now enhances the lives of our youngest members by maintaining a safe, fun, and relaxed nursery!  Katie can be found with a mob of children swarming her wherever she goes, and if the kids aren't with her soaking up her joy, they are probably doting on her own two children, Collin and Carmen.

Dick Gehrisch SPLC.png

Dick Gehrisch, Janitor

You will never see Dick Gehrisch. Like an unseen gnome, he is where you are not - cleaning, straightening, picking up. He makes our building shine. Also a lifelong resident of the Clear Fork Valley, he attends church on Sunday morning—slicked up in his Sunday best, unlike what Dick might be wearing when cleaning—and he will be the one who makes you laugh, for he goes through life joyfully.
